- Read your resume backward. This forces you to look at each word separately. When reading forward, your brain fills in gaps and may read misspelled words as what you intended them to be. Looking at each word individually, you can catch more errors.
- Go through section by section. Take your time and read one section at a time. Focus on grammar and spelling. This also allows you to tighten up your wording and refine sentences to be more clear and concise.
- Come back to it. Give your brain a break. Staring at your resume for too long can cause you to skip over things because you know what you think it should say. Take a break and come back with a fresh approach.
